Orthodox Vaccinations
Whether to vaccinate or not is a difficult decision for many parents to make. The Health Department campaigns vigourously in favour of vaccination and fear is a frequently used tactic to persuade parents to vaccinate their children. However, there is a growing concern in the community, in the alternative health profession and even within the medical profession itself that vaccination is not all it is professed to be.
The diseases the child has been vaccinated against can still occur, but either in a different form so is not recognised, or the GP may refuse to believe the symptoms because the child has been vaccinated.
Many papers are constantly being published by concerned medical scientists who recognise both the ineffectiveness of orthodox vaccination and the side effects.
Homoeopathy has always recognised the link between vaccinations and chronic diseases in later, if not earlier life.
Vaccinations are routinely started at 2 months old and are repeated at four, six, 12, 18 months and at four or five years old, depending on the vaccine.
At two months of age, the baby’s immune system is very immature, with disease protection coming from the mother’s milk. The immune system cannot efficiently utilise the antigen introduced into the blood. First the immune system must mature naturally. Many serious diseases are caused by vaccinations; studies in Japan show that vaccinating a child from two years rather than six weeks old has fewer problems and SIDS disappears.
Immunisation is not necessarily a faulty idea. The problems arise from how the vaccines are made and how they are used. To immunise (orally by homoeopathy) a healthy adult against a potentially serious disease when visiting a country where this disease is common is one thing. To inoculate (directly into the bloodstream) a small infant against normal childhood diseases is quite another.
Vaccines are made from toxic substances which are then ‘processed’ through animal tissue (ethical and cross species issues) and ‘stabilised’ with the use of hazardous chemicals (mercury, aluminium, formaldehyde). This is then injected directly into the blood stream, by-passing all the subtle levels of the body’s immune system. Antibodies are then produced, which are claimed to be protective. But antibodies are only produced when the disease has gone to a deep level. Other forms of defence, not medically recognised, keeps the disease at a superficial level.
There have been no studies done on the long term side-effects of vaccinations, so they cannot be termed ‘scientific’, as claimed. Short term claims of success tend to be exaggerated and fail to take into consideration the general decline of the disease at the time the vaccines were introduced (increased hygiene, improved diet, etc). I recommend further reading for interested parents. Libraries and the Australian Vaccination Network are a good starting point with books available for loan or visit their web site.
Some of the best books are:-
Vaccination - a Review of Risks and Alternatives by Isaac Golden.
Vaccine Guide by Randall Neustaedter.
Handbook of Homoeopathic Alternatives to Immunisations by Susan Curtis.
A Shot in the Dark by H Coulter and B Fisher.
Vaccination, Social Violence and Criminality: the Medical Assault on the American Brain by H Coulter.
The effects depend on the vaccine, but range from mild to serious irritation at the site, through various organ disturbances, bleeding abnormalities, inconsolable crying to permanent brain damage - a very real, if small, possibility.
Homoeopathic treatment is all about raising the immunity of the patient so that disease is easily shrugged off. Orthodox vaccination lowers the immunity, making ANY disease more serious, including that which it is trying to protect against.
There are two other alternatives available. One is not to immunise at all, but to treat diseases as they come, homoeopathically. The other is to homoeopathically immunise - called homoeoprophylaxis.
Should you decide not to vaccinate your child, you have to lodge your decision with the Australian government, in order to continue to receive the normal childhood benefits. This form is available from Medicare. Doctors should carry the form, but often don't. You can download the conscientious objection form. It is in PDF form and can be found at the bottom of the page. Keep copies, then send the form off to the address in Hobart.
