Happily, practically everyone has heard of, if not tried, the most common homeopathic remedy Arnica.
Hearing about it is good.
Using it is better. But many people have only ever used the topical cream. Good though that can be, taking it internally is much better, as your body can then decide which is the most important site to put its uses to. And that may not be the sore knee you just knocked.
Some only know that Arnica is for bruises. Well, that’s a start. And bruises develop after an injury of any sort, so hopefully the connection can be made.
So we have a remedy for injury. By the way, all surgical procedures come under the heading of injury, so Arnica should be taken both before and after any operation, to minimise pain and infection and promote healing.
But Arnica does much more than that. One of my books has over 20 pages of symptoms. Most of these are related to injuries of some sort, but not all.
Few people know that Arnica is one of the top flu remedies. How come?
Bear in mind that flu, as opposed to colds, tend to have body aches of some kind, as well as fever.
Now, injury can come in various guises. One is when you overdo things. Think back to your school days, when you had to run round the playing fields, or go on a hike at the run. Pretty soon, if you weren’t an athlete, you’d get puffed. But later, your muscles would ache too, right?
So Arnica deals with aching muscles regardless of the cause, beit flu or pushing those muscles.
Injuries can become infected, and if left untreated, may get a rotten smell about them. Arnica is great at healing rotten smelling wounds. Some flus give your breath a rotten smell to them. That may be a good indicator that you need Arnica.
If your muscles and body aches, you may find a really soft mattress, pillow or couch very uncomfortable. That’s you, needing Arnica.
Having no energy is pretty common if you have flu, so that symptom is only an indication of the flu, not to be used for selecting a remedy.
The fever symptoms in Arnica are a hot head or face with a cold body. Or an internal heat but cold hands and feet. Or whole body shivering. Or hot in bed, but chilly when uncovered.
One strong mental symptom that you may have is the desire to be distant from people. Someone approaching you gives you the heebie-jeebies, as you fear they may hurt you, For that reason, you tell everyone there’s nothing wrong with you. You and everyone else knows there is, but you just want to be left alone.
An odd symptom of Arnica is a spasmodic and violent cough which occurs with facial herpes.
So let’s recap Arnica’s flu like symptoms:
- aching in muscles
- everything feels uncomfortable
- hot head with cold body
- foul breath
- fear approach of others

Who cannot believe in the power of seeds. The power, the energy stored within the earth is so unimaginable that we can't conceive of it. It's like infinity.

Chia Seeds as Another Superfood
We’ve talked about super foods before. I believe blue green algae is at the top of the list. Goji berries comes close to the top too, as long as they are certified organic. This is particularly important as these are grown in China where pesticides that are banned in other countries are used. Such as DDT.
Chia seeds are also a superfood. The above link is to an excellent article on Chia seeds, but there is just one thing I would like to mention. Chia seeds are high in omega 3. Most people take fish oil for their omega 3. Some fish oil comes from krill, and this harvest is now being restricted due to over fishing.
But you don’t get the whole fish in the supplement. I’m a great believer in eating whole foods. So Chia seeds makes much more nutritional sense to me than does fish oil.
Flax seed is another great source of natural omega 3, but it decomposes rapidly. Chia seeds don’t. They can be kept for years.
There seem to be lots of reasons to choose chia seeds over both fish oil and flax seed oil, at least as far as your omega 3 is concerned.

Getting More from Your Food
Did you know that you get more nutrients from soaking seeds and nuts? I’m talking about raw seeds and nuts here. By soaking them they start to germinate and this process releases more nutrients.
Although soaking rates vary from seed to seed and nut to nut, if you allow a couple of hours for seeds and overnight for nuts, you’ll probably be in the right area.

Cure Your Rheumatoid Arthritis in One Month
I’ve talked about dairy being a great food for baby cows, and only baby cows, in the past. But I recently read of someone with rheumatoid arthritis. She decided to eliminate all dairy for one month. She replaced the milk with coconut milk. (I like oat milk. Others make their own almond milk.)
Within the month, her joint pain had all but disappeared. She can now go on long walks and do things she’s not been able to for years.
If only doctors were trained in natural nutrition, there wouldn’t be anything like the diseases that currently abound. But I suppose telling someone about a natural diet doesn’t pay for the second BMW.
