Treating Depression is Not for the Home Prescriber

Is Medicine Scientific?

First of all, many thanks for all your wonderful responses. I received so many e-mails. You have given me some great feedback about what you want and like. And thanks for all your constructive comments.

There were quite a few requests for things that you definitely can’t treat yourself. It’s always useful to know what you shouldn’t even try to treat.

One of these is depression. This is way too complicated for you to manage on your own.

But we all suffer from being low from time to time, so I want to tell you a great way to manage these episodes. But this should be done IN ADDITION to professional homoeopathic treatment for those who really suffer depression.

I’d first like to give you my feelings on depression.

Childhood is an incredibly important time in fashioning how you think about yourself. You take on board what you are constantly told, even though it may have no foundation in the truth.

It can make you distrust yourself, your inner knowing of what is right, your most precious asset - your intuition. When you don’t trust yourself, nothing will ever go right in your life. You can’t live your life through someone else.

But that is exactly what many (most?) people try to do.

Because you’re not living YOUR life, you start to suffer from depression. It a measure of how far away you are from your inner core.

So, by letting go of old patterns (very difficult without help and homeopathic help is the best help I know), you start to learn to trust yourself again.

When I first learnt to meditate my teacher, Eric Harrison of Perth Meditation Centre, taught me something I continue to find invaluable. I have spoken of this before, so apologies for those who have heard it already. But if you are not putting it into practise , it might be worth another read.

Imagine your mind as a stage. The disagreeable thought is an actor on that stage. Now you have three options.

The first one, is to get up on that stage and get wound up with that thought, thereby empowering it.

Another option is to completely ignore the thought by leaving the theatre altogether. This also empowers it.

Neither of these two options is productive.

The third option is to sit in the audience, sometimes listening to the thought, sometimes not. But allowing the thought to do what it wants to do. What this action does is to dissipate the energy of the thought. Most of us know what it feels like to talk to someone who doesn’t try to fix our problem. Just by talking, the problem is more easily resolved.

This is the same, only better.

It may take a few days (or longer) for deep thoughts to let go, but when they do, you’ll feel much lighter.

I use this whenever I need to, with great results. Don’t encourage the thought, but don’t discourage it either. Just allow.

There is a danger in empowering people to the virtues of homoeopathic home prescribing. And that is you can think that’s all there is to homeopathy. This is very far from the truth. It is deep, powerful and has the potential for resolving every malady under the sun, in a gentle and permanent way.

Maladies that include genetic inheritance.

Apart from depression, there are many areas that are too complicated for you to treat on your own. Teeth grinding is another one of them. And so is weight loss. Carrying too much weight or obesity has many deep and serious implications for a homoeopath and often need a lot of homeopathic treatment.

Heart, endometriosis, auto immune diseases are other areas beyond your scope as a home prescriber. Seek professional help for these and when in doubt.

And don’t forget that a lot of problems are caused by a bad diet. Many problems can be eliminated with a good diet. Such as those six diabetics who went on a totally raw (live) food diet for a month. And all were off their insulin by the end of the experiment.

A good diet and a healthy supplement should never be underrated. I received one e-mail from someone who completely cured his sinus and other health issues by supplementing his diet. Health areas his doctor had no answers for.

Practitioners shouldn’t try to treat problems that a good diet will cure.

Thought of the Week

The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.

Fred Treats a Nosebleed

Fred and Shirley had his sister staying with them for a few days. It was nice to catch up with her, as she lived overseas now, and couldn’t get back very often.

She had suffered a lot as a child from nosebleeds. They seemed to get better as she grew up, but one night, as Shirley was bathing the baby, one started. After getting her a box of tissues, Fred went to the homeopathic first aid kit. He was beginning to find his way around it now. He decided to give her Aconite, since it had come on very suddenly.

The blood was flowing quite freely, but seemed to slow a bit after the second dose. By the third dose it was better. And by the fourth dose it had stopped.

But the next evening, it was back. This time Aconite didn’t do anything.  Fred looked a bit more thoroughly at the instructions, this time. Phosphorus was listed as well. He looked up the information on the remedy.

Bright red, arterial, free flowing blood without clots, worse in the evening.

That sounds right, he thought. And he remembered the bright and profuse blood on her pillow, as a child. It resembled a murder scene, their mother had once joked.

She took a total of four doses over three hours, and enjoyed a blood free remainder of her stay. Fred gave her the bottle to take away with her. He could get a replacement easily enough.

Dogs frequently need Phosphorus. It’s one of the top remedies for fear of thunder, or any sudden and loud noise. Those needing Phosphorus are normally very friendly and the centre of attention. Dogs are typically friendly and love being the centre of attention.

A dog I treated with Phosphorus is on my testimonials, so you can read about it here. Poppy’s Story.

Is Medicine Scientific?

It’s not uncommon for new medical graduates to be approached by Big Pharma, offering them a large handout of cash to do some research. The punch line? The research must have the conclusion supplied by the sponsor.

Doctors across the world are made, not only to advocate vaccinations, but may be struck off if they don’t actively promote them.

Doctors and vets are no longer taught to see a link with environmental factors and disease. They are taught to give this drug for that condition.

Medical students around the world are protesting that their teaching professors are taking money from Big Pharma.

I was also asked to give some of my case histories. I can’t do that for two reasons. I would be in breach of patient confidentiality. And few people want to see themselves being discussed in public. But, you can send your testimonials or stories in and I will publish them.

But, I agree with the writer, that anecdotes are more interesting to read than reference text, which can make your eyes glaze over. Hence the introduction of Fred and Shirley. Let me know if you don’t like the change.
