I promise you, this is the last e-letter on hay fever. For this year anyway.

This week’s remedy is all about tremendous itching of your nose, throat and/or palate. This can sometimes extend to your ears.

To satisfy this intolerable itch, you tend to scratch your palate with your tongue which can make a clucking sound.

This remedy has a lot of throat symptoms such as dryness, a swollen feeling, difficulty swallowing or constant swallowing, hoarseness and/or constant clearing.

A tickle in your throat may trigger a dry, hacking cough.

If you’re into labels, you may have pharyngitis.

You may have a dryness or itching in your posterior sinuses and you can’t clear it, although you constantly try, by clearing your throat.

Your mouth can feel as if it’s scalded. Or you may have a sensation of heat going down to your stomach (as opposed to the sensation of burning with reflux/heartburn coming up from your stomach).

Your itchiness seems to occur more in autumn than spring, with the decreasing daylight hours.

You may have a burning sensation in your chest - in the bronchial tubes.

Eating can trigger the itch.

Wyethia is made from the plant Wyethia helenoides or Alarconia helenoides, a native of California. It’s a member of the Compositeae family, which Arnica, Bellis perennis and Calendula belong to, so you know is a great healing remedy. The petals are yellow - a great healing colour. It’s a poisonous plant, so you know it makes a great remedy. The more potent the source is, the more far reaching the homoeopathic remedy made from it, is likely to be.

The keynotes of Wyethia are

tremendous itch of the nose, throat or palate
focus is on the throat
dry, hacking cough
pharyngitis
posterior sinuses dry or itch
scalded mouth sensation
burning feeling descending to your stomach
burning sensation in chest
more an autumn hay fever remedy, with decreasing daylight
worse for eating

This is quite a small remedy - that is, its use is more or less limited to the symptoms listed above.

Many thanks for all your kind e-mails this last couple of weeks. Margaret (from the UK?) sent me this lovely story, which I want to pass on.

“I just want to let you know about my cat. He had stones! A complete blockage, he developed pancreatis and by the time the vet cleared the stones he was unstable diabetic.

“The vet said it was only a matter of months! That was eleven, yes, eleven years ago!

“I started him on Bach's rescue remedy, 5 drops in his water twice a day and do you know, he sat beside the bowl and waited for his dose. I also phoned Amazon herbs to ask about Pffafia, no one knew the effect on cats, but the sensible thing was to try and see if he would take it. It took months but he stabilised. He is now seventeen, though he has developed a heart condition recently. His diet always has a lot of fresh food, though he has a percentage of proprietary cat food.”

I love proving the medics wrong..... especially their dire prognoses...

Homemade Superfood: Sprouting Seeds and Saving Seeds
http://www.naturalnews.com/023226.html
It may seem hard to believe, but life forms on Earth are constantly submerged in two of the most corrosive substances in the Universe: Oxygen and H2O. Seen at the microscopic level, we are dissolving like an antacid tablet in water. What keeps us alive in this highly solvent medium? It turns out that the enzymes in raw food offset the damage we sustain, reversing the ageing process....

Quote of the Week
What I have noticed in my small world is that if I praise the wild flowers growing on the hill in front of my house, the following year they double in profusion and brilliance. If I admire the squirrel that swings from branch to branch outside my window, pretty soon I have three or four squirrels to admire... The Universe responds. What you ask of it, it gives... Peace will come wherever it is sincerely invited. Love will overflow every sanctuary given it.

Agora Lifestyle Limited's Health Sciences Institute e-Alert

Cases of a life-threatening form of pneumonia that affects the young are rising rapidly in Britain. It now affects around 1,000 children a year. The cause of the increase is unknown but experts fear a vaccine in the immunisation programme could be a contributing factor.

Child health specialists say that cases of pneumonia have risen tenfold in a decade, and warn that a vaccine against pneumococcal disease called Prevanar could be fuelling the rise.

CDC Finds 97 Percent of Americans Contaminated by Sunscreens
http://www.naturalnews.com/022990.html
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) released a new study showing that nearly all Americans are contaminated with oxybenzone, a widely-used sunscreen ingredient. This chemical so far has been linked to allergies, hormone disruption, and cell damage, as well as low birth weight in baby girls whose mothers are exposed during pregnancy. Oxybenzone is also a penetration enhancer, a chemical that helps other chemicals penetrate the skin. So where has the FDA been on this?

Safer than Aspirin
Forgotten Tea Still an Alternative for Pain Relief
I think this came from the People’s Chemist, but I can’t seem to find it on his website. Wherever I got it, it’s a great read.
www.thepeopleschemist.com

Contrary to popular belief, drug giant Bayer did not "invent" Aspirin™. As early as 200 B.C Greek physician Hippocrates prescribed the first "Aspirin™" by recommending the bark and leaves of the white willow tree to relieve pain and fever. This laid the ground work for the eventual synthesis of salicin– one ingredient of white willow bark.

Carl R. Gerhardt first synthesized a better absorbed chemical cousin to salicin in 1853 - acetylsalicylic acid (ASA).  Bayer trademarked the anti-platelet drug as Aspirin in 1889.  The drug is not as safe as the natural counterpart.

The side effects of Aspirin™ are so severe that they can cause a higher death rate relative to the populations who do not take it.

Fortunately, the pain relieving ability, as well as any purported cardiovascular benefits, of the anti-platelet drug can be procured without the risk.  Simply use the forgotten tea white willow bark.  Its track record for safety is impeccable.

This is a great petition site. This one is on persuading President Bush to put polar bears on the endangered list.
