There are many theories abounding at the moment, about what to do to stay healthy, after the Fukushima nuclear explosion and radiation leaks.
Many people are rushing out to buy (sometimes at highly inflated prices) potassium iodide pills. This is an attempt to prevent thyroid cancer.
First of all, I believe that to take a nutrient that targets only one part of the body is unwise. The whole body is affected by radiation, as it is by anything else.
Second, any nutrient that is called by its name (vitamin C, vitamin D, selenium, calcium, potassium iodide) is an isolated nutrient and a synthetic one, made in a laboratory. Life didn’t evolve on isolated and synthetic nutrients. Life evolved on nutritious food, in a naturally balanced form. No nutrients exists in isolation. They are all co-dependent on each other.
You cannot overdose on naturally occurring nutrients, in healthy food, because any excess that the body doesn’t want is easily excreted. However, you can easily overdose on synthetic nutrients, as many people are doing at the moment.
At best these nutrients are excreted, making expensive poo. At worst, they can hang up in parts of the body where they have no business being, wreaking havoc.
So what is the best plan to survive radiation contamination? This is not a short term problem. I believe the problem will get worse and will be with us for some time. And the best way to survive it is to get to work on your overall health.
Here are the pointers that I consider essential in any environmental disaster.

Make sure your diet is healthy. Let junk food go. Let processed food go. Don’t eat out of packets. Limit animal protein. Focus your diet on real food, high in fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Try to eat as much of this raw as you can. Obviously organic is healthier, but this is secondary.

Take a naturally occurring supplement (a plant superfood) which has high de-toxing properties. Blue-green algae probably tops the chart on this. But make sure your source is a good one. Not all algae is equal. I prefer to use the one from Lake Klamath in the US, rather than those grown in the oceans, which are often farmed.

Homoeopathic treatment probably offers you the best protection as well as the best treatment for any condition, including radiation. If you are already seeing a homoeopath and are getting good results in your well-being, stay with it. This is the best protection you can get. If you develop signs and symptoms, go back to your homoeopath. If you are not receiving homoeopathic treatment, this is a good time to start.

Ensure you make time to relax and enjoy the moment. Learn to meditate. Make ‘you’ time. Follow your intuition. Do what feels right for you.

Don’t submerge yourself in the sensational media coverage. This can take your power away, making you an easy target to unscrupulous salesmen.

Take regular exercise. Do whatever you enjoy doing.
Keeping yourself naturally healthy as a whole person is far more likely to protect you from radiation poisoning than swamping your body with the synthetic nutrient of the moment. Think long term.
