What is homoeopathy?

German physician, Samuel Hahnemann, founder of modern day homoeopathy (1755 - 1843).

Homoeopathy is a natural medical approach to health care, providing effective, but gentle oral medicine. This stimulates your body’s great ability to heal itself.

There are three different types of medicine. homoeopathy, antiopathy
and allopathy.

Drugs used in orthodox medicine today, run the risk of side-effects, suppression, lowering the resistance of the host and destroying the natural balance of bacteria. None of this is the basis for long term healing.

Suppression of symptoms tends to reduce the efficiency of the immune system, making it less able to deal effectively with disease. Although symptoms often disappear when suppressed, they return later and with increased vigour, either in the same place or in other parts of the body.

To better understand the difference between homoeopathy and orthodox medicine, I like to use the analogy of a four pole tent. If one of the rear poles collapses (our illness), the whole tent (us) is insecure and doesn't work properly. Modern medicine tries to shore up the tent from the front, so it's never as good and is easily blown over again. A homoeopath walks round to the back, sees the collapsed pole and puts it back in the ground. Everything comes back to as it was.

In other words, orthodox medicine only treats the effect of a disease, whereas homoeopathy treats the cause.

Homoeopathy has deep routes. It's origin, in its present form, goes back over two hundred years. And the concept goes back thousands of years.

One of the great things about homoeopathy is that the philosophy behind it nevers changes. What worked two hundred years ago, still works today. We have many more remedies today, but the way it works remains the same.

And no remedy has ever been removed from the pharmacies, for any reason, but mostly for the danger it poses to you, the patient.

So what's the difference in terms of treatment, between orthodox medicine and homoeopathy?

What are the benefits of homoeopathic treatment?

What ailments can be treated?

Who can be treated?

Can you use it at home, for first aid and acute ailments?

Is it expensive?
